General Information

GP Net Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (eg Average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.  This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability, recognising that GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.

The average pay for GPs working at Watling Medical Centre in the last financial year was £57,705 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 9 part time GP who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

We have a trained person, (a Phlebotomist) who comes to the surgery on Wednesday mornings once a week to do blood tests.  Appointments can be made through reception.

If you see the nurse for a diabetic or high blood pressure check-up, she will do your routine blood test at the time.

Getting Your Results

Once you have had your tests done, the results will be available by telephone or by visiting the reception.  If you ring in for blood tests, please note that these will be given out from 11am.
