Antenatal & Maternity services

If you suspect that you are pregnant, please do a pregnancy test to confirm this as these are not routinely done at the surgery.

If it is positive, you will need to make an appointment to see a doctor who will talk to you about your health and refer you to one of the local  hospitals to plan your care and make arrangements for the birth of your baby.

Alternatively you can self-refer to an antenatal clinic of your choice without the need to see a doctor either by contacting your hospital or doing a referral form online. Please click this link for further details.

The midwives will contact you to arrange your blood tests and scan and your routine antenatal appointments will be done by the community midwives.

Occasionally , you may be asked to see a GP for your antenatal checks.

The Hospital will give you a shared care booklet containing all the information about your pregnancy, which you should take to all your health appointments.
